as a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop automatic transfer switches, supporting sustainable technology solutions. You will use CAD, BOM management, and collaborate with field service teams to optimize mechanical components.

Position Overview As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic engineering team, contributing to the development of automatic transfer switches. Bringing to bear your technical expertise and creativity, you will be responsible for crafting, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical components to meet project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Apply CAD to develop detailed drawings for enclosures and copper bussing compliant with UL 1008 code.

Build and maintain BOMs using our product configurators (COMPAS) and ERP (SAP).

Research internal libraries to support upgrades to legacy equipment.

Support operations & field service teams with engineering‑related questions.

Read and interpret electrical single‑line diagrams to develop mechanical solutions.

Maintain meticulous records of designs, BOMs, and procedures.

Keep up to date with the latest technologies and manufacturing methodologies, bringing innovative solutions to the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Experience with CAD software: AutoCAD, Creo, Inventor.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Ability to interpret physical drawings and system schematic one‑line diagrams.

Interpersonal skills for goal accomplishment across business teams.

Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, problem‑solving.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Lean manufacturing experience.

Experience working with a fabrication shop.

Knowledge of UL codes and National Electric Code.
