role. Molex provides high‑performing, field‑proven optical solutions, including components, modules, and integrated line‑cards, with expertise in wavelength management and amplifier technologies.

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer for our Network Operations team. In this role, you will deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize high‑capacity optical transport networks, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance for our customers and internal systems.

What you will do

Support build activities, including design, configuration, deployment, and migration in large‑scale optical networks spanning long‑haul terrestrial and regional metros, interconnecting data centers and POP sites globally.

Plan, schedule, and perform complex optical and backbone network deployments and migrations; conduct maintenance, upgrades, and provisioning of new circuits or services.

Collaborate with NOC, field technicians, vendors, and engineering teams to resolve faults, perform root‑cause analysis, and troubleshoot optical transport equipment and connectivity.

Maintain standards for Metro, regional, and long‑haul DWDM systems and update network documentation (fiber routes, equipment inventory, change logs).

Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to post‑hours network emergencies.

Provide implementation plans, technical leadership, and guidance during deployment activities.

Review and maintain acceptance documents from vendors and subcontractors deploying equipment on our network.

Offer technical expertise to network provisioning engineers for troubleshooting faulty circuits.

Contribute to documentation, automation, and process improvements.

Support stakeholders by anticipating and influencing business outcomes, communicating proactively, and taking a product and customer mindset.

Analyze network performance reports, identify areas for improvement, and use data‑driven insights to influence metrics.

Travel up to 50% of the time as required.

Experience designing, installing, and maintaining optical networks for service providers or enterprise networks.

Field experience in POPs, carrier hotels, data centers, and central office environments.

Proficiency with optical test equipment (OTDR, OSA, BERT, optical power meters).

Experience with network management tools (Ciena OneControl, Infinera DNA, Nokia NFM‑T).

Experience with data‑center network design.

Knowledge of automation/scripting (Python, Ansible) in networking contexts.

Role not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Equity compensation range: $150,000 – $200,000 per year, plus variable pay.
