We currently have a role available for a Small Molecule Purification Chemist.
Job Duties
Identifying, characterizing and purifying small molecule pharmaceutical compounds using analytical and chromatographic techniques (UPLC, HPLC, prep‑LC, SFC, LC‑MS, etc.). Accustomed to purifying samples weighing between milligram and over 100 g; completing 50+ samples per week. This includes purification of small molecule compounds only; protein, oligonucleotide, and other large molecules are not included. Conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on instrumentation as needed. Rapidly developing unique and effective methods on LC and SFC. Investigating LC‑MS columns/methods for specific projects. Working as a team with other chemists, external resources and data management groups. Providing critical feedback to improve workflow and chemistry performance and to implement best practices. Job Requirements
MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field with more than 3 years of pharma laboratory experience outside of academia/academic research, or BS in Biochemistry or related field with more than 5 years of experience. Extensive theoretical knowledge of UPLC, LC, LC‑MS and hands‑on experience with Waters and Agilent systems. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. Works well both within a team and as an individual. Demonstration of excellent teamwork, collaboration skills, strong attention to detail, strong problem‑solving skills, a high level of learning agility, and the ability to work across functions. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and self‑motivated, with the leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast‑paced multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery.
