IQUADRAT INFORMATICA S.L. (IQU) is a technology company founded in 1997, with a focus on delivering System-Level evaluation tools for wireless networks. IQU R&D has been providing global solutions and services in the use of the Internet and Telecommunications to companies and institutions that use information and communication technologies in commercial, marketing, management, and business communication areas. IQU’s R&D has a focused business plan specifically intended to deliver a “new generation of research tools for system-level Evaluation of wireless integrated communication systems. The R&D department is involved in many National and EU-funded research projects, and has extensive know-how in 5G/6G communication platforms, IoT platforms, and Demand Response algorithms for the Smart Grid. IQU is also active in many EU-funded research projects, related to Wireless Communications, 5G/6G, Smart Grids, and IoT. IQU´s R&D department is seeking three doctoral candidates within the framework of the Marie Curie Doctoral Network EXACT-6G, funded by the European Commission. You can find more information on this project at EXACT-6G, https://www.exact6g.eu . The Doctoral Network is led by IQUADRAT, the Industrial Systems Institute of ATHENA Research Centre (ISI/ATH), and comprises top European partners in the field, apart from IQU, EUR-EURECOM GIE, UO-OULUN YLIOPISTO, GNW-GREENERWAVE, and NOK-NOKIA NETWORKS FRANCE. EXAC-T6G is a newly launched Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network that offers fifteen (15) ten (10) PhD positions in European countries. The project will work towards a breakthrough converged optical-wireless architecture that makes reality an efficient 6G Cell-Free (CF)-based access network for enabling the requested 1 Tb/s peak data rate and deployments with over 107 devices/km2, and for supporting new advanced user-services (e.g., holographic telepresence, advanced AR/VR, massive digital twinning, flying networks, etc.).The project aims to propose, design, and validate a novel and agile 6G system architecture and enabling technologies, combining RIS with a Compute Continuum infrastructure and Distributed, Intelligent orchestration that seamlessly integrates Cloud, Edge, and Far Edge nodes under a self-synthesized and self-managed PaaS system. Furthermore, EXACT-6G proposes new concepts, such as Pervasive Orchestration, and designs new Explainable AI models for scalable, autonomous control of the infrastructure, and allows microservices to “follow” users, being tracked by Joint Communication and Sensing mechanisms. In this context, EXACT-6G will build a training network of 10 Doctoral Candidates who will conduct top-notch research towardsthe development and experimental evaluation of a gamut of techniques, methodological frameworks, and tools. Must hold a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Math/Physics/Statistics, or a related field Track record of research excellence Please include your internship availability in your application Specific Requirements

The Doctoral Candidates (DC) enrolments are under very attractive employment conditions, and competitive salaries are offered in Marie Curie Doctoral Networks. The selected DCs will join top-class research groups and have a unique opportunity to pursue a career in wireless communications and networking. Working in this ambitious research project, DCs could lead to the successful completion of a doctoral degree, together with a very strong joint multidisciplinary research training program in the field of wireless and optical networks. The planned mobility among eight EU countries and ten institutions is a plus of these job positions. The Doctoral Candidate Fellowship is offered under very attractive employment conditions and a competitive salary, which includes all employer and employee taxes and contributions, in compliance with the Marie Curie Innovative Doctoral Networks. The period of employment is 3 years. The Doctoral Candidate will take part in a secondment to another project partner (EURECOM) for up to 6 months of his/her appointment period. The Doctoral Candidate will be enrolled in a PhD degree program. Position: Pervasive orchestration algorithms for self-synthesized continuum infrastructures This position targets to develop algorithms that autonomously manage and optimize distributed computing resources across cloud, edge, and IoT environments. The role focuses on enabling seamless, self-adaptive orchestration for improved efficiency, scalability, and fault tolerance in dynamic infrastructures. The ultimate goal is to create systems that can intelligently self-configure and adjust to changing demands without manual intervention, enhancing performance across diverse digital layers. To offer a reliable orchestration solution over an infrastructure with capacity-constrained, dynamic, and intermittent nodes with a MARL scheme that addresses stability and convergence problems, and integrate and test this solution with the Explainable DIMO and PaaS frameworks in an end-to-end Metaverse scenario at the IQU 5G/6G testbed.
