Position Summary

The Mohs Histotechnician plays a vital role in supporting the Mohs surgeon by ensuring accurate and efficient preparation of tissue specimens. This includes assisting with specimen grossing, tissue processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and maintaining a clean and well-functioning laboratory environment. Pay and Hours

Pay range - $35 hourly, Hours are Three days a week, 8 hours daily. Essential Functions

To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of histology, laboratory procedures, and quality control standards. Embed, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens efficiently and in adherence to established policies, procedures, and laboratory standards. Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with superiors, peers, physicians, and patients. Maintain strong organizational abilities and proficiency in relevant computer applications. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours in science courses, with at least 6 hours in chemistry, 6 hours in biology, and 12 hours in a combination of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology. Associate degree in chemical or biological sciences or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. Completion of 60 semester hours (or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Mohs procedures. Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL, ASCP) or Histotechnician (HT, ASCP). Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and laboratory equipment operation. Mohs Surgery Experience This role requires a proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment.
