Risk Advisory Manager
This is a high-impact, strategic risk leadership role to join the team as a Risk Advisory Manager who would serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, help shape the risk culture and work closely with the CRO to do so. You would influence strategy, challenge assumptions and be a driver of change for the company with exposure to various products beyond what you know now as well as M&As, new product launches and much more. In this role you would be leading risk assessments, define risk appetite and ensure alignment with the global risk framework.
Candidates must have commodities/energy experience with any commodities and a risk management background. Ideal candidates have experience in risk management at a commodity trader.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with business units to identify and assess operational, financial, and strategic risks.
Support risk assessments (RCSA, scenario analysis, etc.) and challenge assumptions.
Define and monitor risk appetite and key risk indicators.
Review new initiatives for risk implications and ensure mitigation plans are in place.
Evaluate control frameworks and address deficiencies.
Conduct targeted risk reviews and support assurance activities.
Provide risk reporting and insights to leadership and committees.
Oversee business continuity planning and crisis response coordination.
Lead training to enhance risk awareness across the organization.
Qualifications:
4+ years in operational risk within financial services, ideally capital markets.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and risk frameworks.
Familiarity with energy/commodities markets and post-trade workflows.
Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
