Responsibilities
Ingest, transform, and curate data from multiple source systems (ERP, HRIS, project management, CRM, external APIs)
Optimize data storage using OneLake and Fabric Lakehouse concepts for performance and cost efficiency
Implement data modeling practices (star schema, Data Vault, dimensional modeling) aligned to business needs
Ensure smooth data integration with Power BI semantic models and Fabric Warehouse
Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports in Power BI, using Fabric’s Direct Lake mode for real‑time analytics
Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to discover trends, patterns, and anomalies
Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytical datasets and insights
Provide ad‑hoc analysis to support decision‑making in operations, finance, safety, and HR
Apply data governance principles (DAMA‑DMBOK framework) within Fabric’s data management ecosystem
Establish and monitor data quality metrics (completeness, accuracy, timeliness)
Implement security, access, and role‑based permissions using Fabric’s governance tools
Document data pipelines, transformations, and models for transparency and reuse
Partner with business and IT teams to define KPIs and analytics use cases
Stay current with Microsoft Fabric feature releases and recommend improvements
Provide guidance and training to analysts and business users adopting Fabric and Power BI
Support migration from legacy data warehouse or ETL systems into Fabric
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
3‑5 years of experience in data engineering and/or analytics
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows, Data Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake, Power BI integration)
Strong SQL skills for data modeling, transformations, and performance tuning
Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M)
Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault)
Experience designing semantic models for BI
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex datasets
Ability to balance short‑term reporting needs with long‑term platform scalability
Knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA‑DMBOK, Microsoft Purview optional)
Familiarity with security, compliance, and data privacy requirements
Industry experience in construction or finance is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce’s sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
