About Madrigal Pharmaceuticals Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c). Our success is driven by our people. Job Description We are expanding our AI capabilities to accelerate insights, enhance decision quality, and enable scalable innovation across the organization. We are seeking a Senior Manager, AI and Data Science who brings strong technical depth, hands‑on experience with agentic AI, and an ownership mindset. This individual will develop advanced AI solutions, partner across functions, and help expand our use of modern machine learning and agentic frameworks to support our mission.
Key Responsibilities AI & Data Science Development
Lead end-to-end development of machine learning and AI models, from problem framing through deployment and ongoing evaluation.
Collaborate effectively with data scientists, ML engineers, and cross-functional partners to design and deliver AI solutions that support business and scientific needs.
Work with stakeholders to identify high‑value opportunities for AI that enhance Commercial, Medical, and enterprise‑level processes.
Agentic AI & Framework Integration
Build and optimize AI agents and orchestration workflows using modern agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
Develop modular and reusable components for reasoning, retrieval, tool integration, and workflow automation.
Develop end-to-end agentic frameworks incorporating agent connectors, MCP tools, and integrated interfaces, working closely with the Agentic UI team to ensure seamless product delivery.
Modeling & Applied Machine Learning
Design and deploy machine learning models, including applications in recommendation, personalization, and other ML‑driven decision‑support systems.
Apply modern ML techniques, including embeddings, graph methods, and generative model integration to real‑world healthcare and Commercial challenges.
Build AI solutions for Commercial use cases in Healthcare and Life Sciences.
Data Integration & MLOps
Partner with data engineering teams to ensure scalable, ML‑ready data pipelines and model monitoring.
Utilize platforms such as Databricks to support model development, optimization, and operationalization.
Cross‑Functional Engagement
Translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for technical and non‑technical partners.
Align AI initiatives with enterprise governance, privacy, and compliance expectations.
Qualifications Required
Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
7+ years of experience in data science and applied machine learning.
3+ years implementing and deploying machine learning or AI systems in production environments.
1+ year of hands‑on agentic AI development using frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
Experience working with patient‑level data and feature engineering.
Experience building recommender systems or related ML approaches.
Proficiency in Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch, Scikit‑learn, MLflow), and data tools (Spark, SQL).
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across scientific, technical, and business teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
Experience in Healthcare or Life Sciences.
Preferred
Familiarity with Databricks and modern cloud‑based ML development.
Experience deploying Agents to production environments.
Proven track record of building AI solutions in Healthcare and Life Sciences.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position, applicable to all candidates, is $163,000 - $200,000 per year. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
