Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery for manufacturing operations.
Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers while managing existing vendor relationships and performance.
Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and supply chain efficiency.
Ensure all purchased materials and services meet specified quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Mitigate supply chain risks, including lead time variations, material shortages, and price fluctuations.
Recommended Qualifications
5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract management.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement, inventory management, and planning.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
Proven ability to lead and develop a purchasing team.
Bonus Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Demonstrated experience with advanced ERP/MRP system functionalities (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Experience with international sourcing, logistics, and import/export compliance
APICS CSCP or ISM CPSM certification
