Responsibilities
Leads latent/root cause analyses for reliability incidents and, when applicable, directs warranty response efforts related to technical scope.
Analyzes reliability data and provides actionable feedback to TSS, Design, Product Management, Production, Supply Chain, and R&D to enhance product reliability.
Evaluates failed seals, prepares detailed Seal Failure Reports, and provides application-based recommendations.
Reviews application information to assess design change requests or substitutions, recommending appropriate seal types, materials, and sealing systems to minimize safety concerns.
Troubleshoots products and systems—both remotely and in the field—and documents findings and recommendations in formal reports.
Supports repair execution by collaborating closely with service, design, and manufacturing teams while aiding sales efforts through product promotion, technical support, and customer servicing.
Contributes to key continuous improvement projects, development of sales tools, and reviews of drawings and O&M manuals as needed.
Delivers customer presentations and product training (including onsite) and participates in new product development and application engineering tool initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; advanced education or training in mechanical seal technology preferred.
10+ years of experience in a similar or related position involving mechanical seals or rotating equipment.
Strong analytical abilities with demonstrated problem-solving skills and technical judgment related to form, fit, and function of sealing products.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a customer-focused, self-motivated work style.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a cross‑functional team in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
Thorough understanding of mechanical sealing technologies and associated equipment is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Project Management tools, Access, or CAD is a plus.
Ability to travel up to 10% and work at customer facilities as required.
