The outpatient Women’s Chemo Infusion Center is dedicated to providing excellent care to women with gynecologic cancers. In a collaborative environment, our team of infusion nurses, medical assistants, nurse coordinators, physicians, and nurse practitioners strive to provide chemotherapy safely, compassionately and timely.

Role Purpose

The Assistant Nurse Manager provides administrative support to Nurse Managers and direct reports. This includes coordinating patient care, performance management of direct reports, equipment purchasing/management, and statistical accumulation.

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures productivity and actions meet departmental goals.

Participates in development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and ensures adherence to those goals.

Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions; documents as per policy.

Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment.

Supports review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours, performs daily payroll updates, reconciles time cards and approves coding. Prepares and executes staff communications; prepares meeting agendas; leads meetings; determines staffing needs; makes nursing assignments and overtime; recommends annual increases; interviews staff for open positions; conducts performance reviews; drafts corrective actions; follows up on disciplinary actions.

Responsible for staff productivity and overall operational goals; conducts performance evaluations and recommends improvements.

Position is safety‑sensitive; requires constant alertness and safe conduct.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience: 2–5 years

Supervisor Experience: None

Licenses & Certifications: RN

Preferred Experience: 5–10 years
