Hours: 12:00 - 10:00 pm
Duties: Blood bank position responsible for manual blood typing, crossmatch, and preparing blood products for transfusion.
***$5,000 to $10,000 Sign-On-Bonus Eligible***

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II performs specimen processing and routine/complex testing on blood and other specimens, requiring knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, procedure methodologies, and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required and demonstrates good clinical laboratory practice.
Responsibilities
Operate all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
Train new laboratory personnel in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
Perform quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoot malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Assess technical and instrument problems, including quality control and abnormal findings, evaluate possible solutions, and choose an appropriate course of action.
Report and maintain record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turnaround times for routine testing and stats.
Participate in performance improvement activities and initiatives by proactively diagnosing and resolving problems. Specific quality functions are handled in an organized and timely fashion.
