Job Summary
West Monroe is searching for an Experienced Consultant to join our growing Cybersecurity practice, focusing on IT security advisory and solutions delivery for clients across various industries. Projects may include security controls analysis, risk/compliance assessments, and/or strategy & roadmap development. Responsibilities
Provide strategic cybersecurity advisory and consulting services for enterprise clients, ranging from policy definition to implementation, adoption, and enforcement.
Deliver our Cybersecurity Advisory for Private Equity (CAPE) program/offering – to provide ongoing visibility into security practices, risks, and threats across a PE firm’s entire portfolio.
Leverage industry‑accepted frameworks for current‑state risk/controls review of existing organizations – risk/compliance adherence, processes, technologies – while developing implementation strategies and roadmaps to guide solution delivery.
Perform assessments, identify risks, highlight vulnerabilities, and determine a client’s ability to protect against attacks, detect active threats, and respond/recover from incidents.
Develop recommendations and strategies for improving cybersecurity programs.
Promote thought leadership in emerging cybersecurity technologies and best practices through activities such as blogs, white papers, and industry events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required.
Consulting firm/industry experience preferred, including developed client interviewing skills.
0‑3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT Audit, or Tech Consulting.
Background in commonly used cybersecurity domains – risk & compliance, privacy, strategy & operations, incident response, cloud security, network security, application security, data protection, identity and access management.
Preference for experience working on security risk & controls assessment projects, leveraging industry‑accepted frameworks such as NIST.
Comfortable conveying complex cybersecurity concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Achieved or pursuit of cyber industry and technical certifications to support skill development.
Proficient verbal, presentation/facilitation, and written communication skills.
Willingness to travel for out‑of‑town client engagements (10‑25% travel).
Hybrid role: 2x per week in office.
Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
Location & Salary
Chicago – $88,400 – $104,000 USD
Los Angeles – $97,200 – $114,400 USD
New York – $101,700 – $119,600 USD
