Compensation Overview Annual base salary range: $94,400 – $155,800
Employees are also eligible for performance‑based cash incentive awards.
What Is the Opportunity? Travelers is seeking a Technology Engineer I to join our Enterprise Technology Solutions organization. You will serve as the critical bridge between infrastructure foundations and application development, specializing in the design, configuration, and management of enterprise platforms that enable scalable business capabilities.
What Will You Do?
Perform analysis, design, implementation, and configuration of technology platforms and environments with a high degree of accuracy.
Conduct assessment, development, deployment, and setup of moderately complex technology platforms and environments.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows to support application deployment and operations.
Participate with the team to analyze, assess, and resolve platform defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and escalates appropriately.
Configure, integrate, and maintain the platform/service layer where applications run, ensuring reliability and performance.
Document platform configurations, integration points, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with Software Engineers and Infrastructure Engineers to align application functionality with platform capabilities and infrastructure performance requirements.
Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities in platform engineering, CI/CD methodologies, and DevOps practices.
Familiarize with basic AI concepts and introductory tools, participating in foundational workshops and online courses.
Engage with emerging technologies through guided projects, focusing on hands‑on experimentation and practical applications.
Strategic Input
Work within guidelines set by the team to independently tackle well‑scoped platform engineering problems.
Define technical requirements for platform engineering assignments, including enterprise SaaS and PaaS solutions for application development and deployment.
Continuous Growth
Attend introductory seminars and webinars on AI, fostering an awareness of its impact on technology engineering.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Technical Expertise & Education
Three (3) years of technology engineering/platform management experience preferred.
Five (5) years experience with observability tools – Elasticsearch (ELK), Datadog or Dynatrace preferred.
Demonstrated track record of enterprise platform expertise including SaaS/PaaS concepts; in‑depth knowledge of technology platforms.
Strong Analytical And Troubleshooting Skills
Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Cloud, Network, Database, Server, Storage.
Strategic & Business Acumen
Intermediate delivery skills with predictable pace to achieve commitments; ability to decompose assignments into small batch deployments.
Proven problem‑solving skills, including debugging unfamiliar platforms, proactive resolution, and decomposition of large problems.
Leadership & Influence
Strong communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders, document work, and actively listen.
Intermediate leadership capabilities with self‑motivation and initiative; commitment to personal growth in database technologies.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent experience plus 2 years of technology or platform engineering experience.
