Director Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Help define the future of Talos as the Director, FP&A in our New York City HQ. In this role, you will have an opportunity to collaborate extensively with senior leadership to develop business plans & strategies and establish a framework for problem solving and decision making that leverages data, analytical rigor and storytelling. The ability to blend B2C and B2B strategies, especially SaaS FinTech businesses, will be an important success factor.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the company’s annual and long‑range financial planning processes, aligning strategic objectives with financial outcomes.

Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, scenario analyses, and sensitivity models to guide decision‑making in a dynamic SaaS/ capital markets environment.

Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights that support pricing, product strategy, customer acquisition, and retention.

Establish the foundation for a future high‑performing FP&A team by building scalable processes, defining roles, and developing a growth plan including mentoring and succession planning.

Own the company’s key performance indicators, including ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, gross margin, and payback period; shape narrative and storytelling for internal and external audiences.

Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track performance against goals across revenue, expense, and cash metrics.

Drive improved forecasting accuracy and discipline through deep understanding of operational drivers.

Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Operations teams to understand business initiatives and translate them into financial implications.

Capable of influencing cross‑functional leadership using data to drive strategic initiatives across business units.

Support Board and investor reporting, including preparation of presentations, analysis, and commentary.

Lead financial modeling for strategic initiatives, including new product launches, M&A, and fundraising.

Enhance financial systems, tools, and data flow to create a scalable FP&A infrastructure.

Drive automation and continuous improvement in planning, reporting, and analysis processes.

Partner with Accounting to ensure accuracy and alignment between actuals and forecasts.

Leverage AI, automation, and advanced financial analytics techniques to enhance forecasting accuracy and process efficiency.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance, with at least 3+ years leading teams.

Strong background in SaaS financial modeling, metrics, and analytics.

Experience supporting or leading financial operations in a growth‑stage or public SaaS company.

Public SaaS company experience preferred.

Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and communicate effectively with executives and stakeholders.

Expertise with financial planning tools and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Excel/Sheets, SQL, Python, Tableau, Planful, Mosaic).

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.

Bonus Industry Experience: High‑growth technology startups, FinTech, Digital Assets, SaaS businesses, capital markets.

Strategic mindset with operational execution strength.

High attention to detail and analytical rigor balanced with the ability to see the bigger picture.

Ability to work in the abstract with uncertain industry growth and new product launches.

Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without authority.

Curiosity, initiative, and a passion for leveraging data to drive business growth.

Compensation In New York City, the annual base compensation range is $175,000 – $230,000. This position is eligible for discretionary bonus.
