Seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the finance team and play a critical role in managing indirect tax operations, compliance, and process improvement across multiple business units and jurisdictions. Position Overview
The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for managing all aspects of sales and use tax compliance and reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on tax work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, with exposure to both U.S. and multi‑state operations. The role reports to the Accounting Director and will partner closely with accounting, finance, and operations teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all tax‑related processes. Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions. Research and resolve tax issues related to product taxability, nexus, exemptions, and audits. Maintain and reconcile sales and use tax accounts; ensure proper accruals and journal entries. Support and coordinate responses for sales audits and inquiries. Collaborate with business units to ensure proper application of tax on customer invoices and vendor purchases. Support compliance calendar management and ensure timely filings across all entities. Business Licensing (≈5%)
Maintain and monitor business licenses across all operating jurisdictions. Oversee initial license applications, renewals, and compliance with local business requirements. Support tax automation initiatives, process improvements, and ERP system enhancements. Participate in due diligence or integration projects related to acquisitions or reorganizations. Conduct special tax research projects as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MST a plus. 3–6 years of progressive experience in sales & use tax or indirect tax compliance, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment. Strong working knowledge of multi‑state sales and use tax laws and reporting requirements. Experience with Vertex, Avalara, or similar tax software preferred. Advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Seniority level
