About the Role
We are a growing Bergen County CPA firm seeking a Senior Accountant with at least 5 years of CPA-firm experience. CPA preferred, not required with strong skills in accounting, auditing, workpaper and financial statement preparation for commercial real estate partnerships, construction companies, manufacturers, distributors, and other closely held businesses. Related tax experience a plus.
What You’ll Work On You’ll be hands‑on with a mix of clients in industries that require real technical depth, including:
Construction contractors and developers
Manufacturing and distribution companies
Closely held businesses across multiple states
This role does not involve
International clients
Public company or SEC work

Key Responsibilities
Prepare accounting workpapers for compilation and review engagements, perform audit procedures
Assist, as needed, in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns for the related partnership, S corporations, C corporations, and high‑net‑worth individuals
Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with firm team members
Supervise staff as needed
Support planning, projections, and transactional matters
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience in a CPA firm
Strong competency with accounting, financial statement preparation.
Relevant audit and accounting experience
Experience with real estate/construction/manufacturing clients strongly preferred
Ability to manage multiple engagements
Solid working knowledge of CCH Engagement, CCH ProSystem fx
