Base pay range $110,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Accountants One has a well-known Real Estate company that has an Accounting Manager position open. It is located in Downtown Atlanta, GA area.
This role oversees the timely review, preparation, and compilation of financial statements, supporting schedules, and required disclosures for a portfolio of properties. The Accounting Manager will lead a team of accountants and cultivate strong internal partnerships across the accounting function. In addition, this position works closely with asset management and development teams to ensure a smooth exchange of information and precise, on‑time reporting.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage the onboarding and transition of properties that are newly acquired or moving out of development.
Oversee month‑end close activities for each assigned property, ensuring compliance with specific reporting requirements, accounting bases, and deadlines.
Assist in refining processes and implementing system or technology enhancements.
Support the growth and development of team members through consistent coaching and scheduled performance reviews.
Coordinate annual budgeting and reforecasting for operating properties and provide required data to internal stakeholders across property, asset, and corporate teams.
Review monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reporting packages for accuracy and timeliness.
Manage annual audit activities and the preparation of financial statements for operating properties.
Provide necessary schedules and data to the tax team for federal, state, and property tax filings.
Research and apply accounting guidance relevant to specific transactions, agreements, or property structures.
Assist in interpreting and applying financial concepts within legal documents such as loan agreements, operating agreements, and joint venture structures.
Review lease agreements, related commission structures, and calculate broker payments based on contractual requirements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Background in real estate accounting or tax, with experience supporting operating properties or investment structures.
Familiarity with partnership and LLC structures.
Strong technical skills, with proficiency in accounting software (Yardi preferred) and MS Office.
Advanced analytical abilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and multiple deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective problem‑solving capabilities.
Ability to work fully on‑site, five days per week.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience, including exposure to property‑level accounting, project accounting, or real estate operations.
