Senior Staff Accountant Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Manning Personnel Group, Inc., is working with a clinical‑stage biotechnology company as they are actively seeking to add a Senior Staff Accountant to their team.
The Senior Staff Accountant will report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting and be responsible for monthly reconciliations and close responsibilities, managing the accounts payable function and actively participating in the implementation of the NetSuite accounting system and other systems as required. The Senior Staff Accountant must be self‑motivated with an outstanding work ethic. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to work with cross‑functional teams, and be a results‑oriented professional.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Perform monthly close activities including general accruals and other balance sheet reconciliations such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, and payroll‑related accounts.
Process bi‑monthly payroll and 401(k) submissions in a timely manner.
Manage employee expense reporting system, including verification of receipts and coding.
Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including coding invoices, obtaining approvals, and ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Review purchase order requests for appropriate documentation, accurate coding, proper approvals and compliance with corporate policies.
Manage vendor relations and build effective partnerships.
Manage IRS 1099 compliance and reporting.
Assist with audit preparation, as needed.
Support the implementation of NetSuite, as well as the optimization of other accounting systems and third‑party tools, to drive team efficiency.
Assist with record keeping and file maintenance, as needed.
Adhere to and maintain internal control processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience
4 years accounting experience
Strong problem‑solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi‑tasking skills
Proficient in Excel
Experience with NetSuite
Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry
