Job Description The Loss Prevention Officer ensures the safety and security of the resort, enforces policies, observes suspicious circumstances, responds to emergencies, records incident reports accurately, and utilizes PPE and sanitation chemicals safely.
Responsibilities
Act and perform assigned tasks as an extension of management.
Observe and report both verbally and in writing on all assignments.
Use computers and software to generate effective, concise reporting.
Use radio equipment and maintain accurate records; proper telephone etiquette.
Patrol the property; report and record all unsafe conditions.
Be Red Cross certified in first aid and CPR; maintain knowledge of fire and fire alarm procedures.
Insure the protection and preservation of resort guests and property; maintain knowledge of emergency and life safety procedures.
Accept and complete specific assigned tasks, including bike and pool chemical follow‑up.
Conduct investigations; conduct safety inspections.
Lock and secure the resort.
Conduct accident investigations and write accident reports.
Assist associates with care for accidents as needed.
Assist guests and associates with entry and exit from secured areas according to resort policy.
Enforce hotel policies and procedures.
Respond to life‑threatening emergencies and criminal behavior according to resort policy.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
Respond to customer‑service related tasks as needed.
If Rooms Departments are absent, perform basic check‑in, cleanliness, luggage, or service requests.
Perform health screenings for employees and guests (infrared temperature check and symptom screenings).
Qualifications
Background check without serious criminal record and safe driving record.
Valid Food Handlers Certification and TIPS Alcohol Certification upon hire.
CPR Certification preferred or ability to gain upon employment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle tense situations calmly.
Hotel/resort experience preferred.
Prior security/loss prevention experience strongly preferred.
Mobile throughout the resort; work inside and outside required.
Flexible schedule: day, evening, overnight, weekends and holidays.
Typing speed minimum 25 WPM; 35 WPM preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); incident report software and Chrome Browser preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
Physical Demands The role requires frequent standing and walking, frequent use of hands and arms to finger, handle, or feel, the ability to talk or hear, occasional walking and stooping, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Good vision required.
Pay Rate $24.75 per hour.
