Corporate Finance Lending Associate (Chicago)
Dykema’s Chicago office seeks an attorney with 4–6 years of transactional experience for our Corporate Finance practice group. The ideal candidate will focus on financing transactions, with significant experience representing lenders across a variety of industries in connection with acquisition financings, recapitalizations, and restructurings. A working knowledge of general corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and capitalization, corporate governance, shareholder agreements, customer agreements, and day-to-day operations, is a plus. The attorney should demonstrate attention to detail, superior organizational skills, the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and competing priorities, and the capacity to quickly learn substantive legal topics. The attorney is also expected to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external clients at all levels.
The salary range for this role is $192,000 – $212,000. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Admission to practice in Illinois is required, and admission to New York is preferred.

Responsibilities
Lead the drafting and negotiation of transaction documents, including loan agreements, commitment letters, and related ancillary documents.
Represent lenders across a variety of industries, handling acquisition financings, recapitalizations, and restructurings.
Work closely with internal counsel and client executives to structure financing solutions and mitigate transaction risk.
Maintain accurate transaction records and support the firm’s billing and matter management processes.
Collaborate with junior attorneys and paralegal staff to develop transaction strategies and deliver client service.
Qualifications
4–6 years of transactional experience in a corporate finance or corporate banking environment.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with experience negotiating loan agreements and related financing documents.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
Admission to practice law in Illinois; admission to New York is preferred.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
