The Product Development Engineer will drive the design and development of advanced catheter products, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on delivering innovative solutions that support rapid growth and improve patient outcomes.

A leading Massachusetts based medical device innovator specializing in catheter-based technologies. The company is recognized for its advanced endoscopic ablation system and pulsed field ablation platform, delivering precise, minimally invasive solutions that improve patient outcomes in cardiac care.

Responsibilities

Design and develop innovative catheter-based products and related processes to meet project objectives and clinical needs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including R&D, manufacturing, and quality-to ensure timely achievement of milestones.

Perform feasibility studies, risk analyses, and design validations for new concepts and technologies.

Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout all phases of product development, from concept to commercialization.

Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test protocols.

Assess and enhance existing products for improved performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards, including design controls and risk management requirements.

Support manufacturing and quality teams during scale‑up and production to resolve technical challenges and optimize processes.

Profile

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).

Experience in catheter design and development, including materials, extrusion, and assembly processes.

Knowledge of energy delivery systems (e.g., laser, RF, or pulsed field) and their integration into medical devices.

Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA design controls for Class II/III devices.

Proven ability to lead projects from concept through commercialization in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and clinical.

Excellent communication skills for translating clinical needs into technical specifications.
