We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer, reporting directly to the hiring manager, to join our Electrical and Instrumentation team based in Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
Lead and/or support a Team of Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers on PDP, FEED and Detail Engineering Projects
Develop project scope of work for electrical engineering and design
Monitors and advises Department Manager of major project changes
Prepares detailed design schedule milestones, staff loading schedules and man‑hour estimates for engineering and design tasks
Reports progress, updates schedules, manages staffing needs and hourly budget
Establishes engineering and design concepts and data for scope assigned to group and assures technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements
Prepares project scope deviations documentation as required
Researches suitable solutions, estimated cost and timescales
Trains less experienced engineers
Reviews vendor documents
Independently evaluates the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project objectives
Applies standard engineering design tasks and exhibits a working knowledge of applicable codes
Plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phases of work
Reviews and generates design data and/or deliverables from various inputs
Performs the more sophisticated and complicated designs in accordance with established company standards
Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
Supervises, checks and assists other electrical personnel in their assignments
Prepares and/or supervises and checks documents and drawings as required
Qualifications
10+ years in LNG, Energy Transition, Carbon Capture, Refining and/or Petrochemical Plant Engineering/Design
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
P.E. in Louisiana and/or Texas and ability to obtain multi‑state P.E.
