Description Job Description Team: This team consists of 10 engineer, and 2 in the Linux space. Environment: 15,000 users 1,500 virtual servers 1,000 Windows and 300 Linux Nutanix primarily for servers and Checkpoint and Z-Scaler firewalls. They are also implementing Azure into their cloud space and is working directly with Microsoft. 2 datacenters, one in Morrisville, and one in Chicago. This Linux Engineer will have a mix of technologies and skills. They will be primarily Linux focused, but will touch the Windows space occasionally. They will work with the other Windows engineers to support the whole infrastructure space. They have everything from RHEL 5-RHEL 8 and wants to move towards RHEL 8 fully. This is an ongoing migration, but they are primarily working within RHEL 7. This engineer should have experience within all of the Life Cycle Management LCM within RedHat. They have Satellite for patch management and a tower SAP that runs on AIX all supporting platforms of RHEL. RHEL is only in the data center and not in any branches with some of it being spun up within Azure. This engineer will help to build new systems for deployment, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and advance the environment. This is not an administrator or even a Linux support role. This engineer needs to have experience with Linux on an enterprise level. They will be project delivery focused over any support that is needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications This engineer should have intermediate experience with Ansible automation; currently using it to change switches in the network, patching, server provisioning, backups, deploying security agents, and server provisioning. They will help to write a process and create a personalized playbook within this space for future employees. Nice to have skills: any experience with load balancers, F5 is currently in place. Comfortable with active directory and VMware ESXi. Finally, Nutanix, specifically hypervisors. Technical areas of expertise should include and not be limited to the following:

Red Hat Linux operating systems

Scripting and automation using Ansible or similar technologies

Server virtualization and networking with Vmware, Nutanix, or similar platforms.

Security best practices

Deployment in hyperscalers such as Azure and AWS

Experience Level Intermediate Level

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $105000.00 – $125000.00/yr. Extreme autonomy. Merit based increase of up to 3% annually. Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually. 401k match 100% up to 5%. Unlimited training with Udemy, Cisco, Dell, and others.

Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Raleigh,NC.
