Senior Network Engineer

This onsite role works Monday‑Friday, day shift at one of our laboratory locations.
Position Summary As a Senior Network Engineer you will develop, manage, and support a large geographically dispersed network that underpins our high‑availability, 24X7X365 clinical laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
Provide daily support for Local, Wireless, and Wide Area Networks including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and other network appliances.
Plan, perform, and recommend firmware upgrades for network devices.
Create and maintain load‑balanced services on F5 Load Balancers to meet business objectives.
Develop and enforce firewall rules and policies on Palo Alto Firewalls in line with internal security policies.
Configure and tune monitoring systems for network devices.
Maintain accurate network diagrams for site builds and specific services/solutions.
Participate in team troubleshooting, including operations bridges, trouble tickets, and root cause analysis.
Process, monitor, and prioritize trouble tickets, projects, and tasks.
Create and troubleshoot site‑to‑site VPNs with external customer IT departments.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (preferably in Computer Science or related technical field).
5+ years supporting and managing a large, geographically dispersed IT infrastructure.
CISCO Certified Network (CCIE) or higher required.
Previous management experience or ability to lead junior team members preferred.
Experience in 24/7 environments.
Experience with Cisco Viptela or SD‑WAN strongly preferred.
Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, emphasis on site‑to‑site VPN tunnels.
Knowledge of fiber and copper cabling installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Knowledge of switch architecture, ASICs, and packet flow for current‑generation switches/routers.
Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
