About the Opportunity The D’Amore‑McKim School of Business at Northeastern University is seeking candidates for the Mark and Gail Pyke Professor of Finance Professorship in the Finance group. The anticipated start date is Fall 2026.
Summary of Responsibilities
Develop initiatives that enhance the school’s scholarly reputation in finance through high‑impact research and activities in areas such as corporate finance, investment, fintech, AI applications in finance, sustainable finance, and ESG initiatives.
Increase the visibility and prestige of the D’Amore‑McKim School of Business Finance faculty.
Promote and enhance the research activities of the Finance Group and develop initiatives and programs that elevate the School’s and University’s reputation among business executives, policymakers, and peers.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Finance or a related field by the appointment start date.
Outstanding scholars with an international reputation for excellence in research, teaching, and service, with clear indications of continued research success.
Effective mentors of junior colleagues who value collegiality.
Research that complements and extends the interests of existing faculty.
Prepared to work with global student populations.
Mid‑senior level; full‑time academic position.

Research Statement (no longer than 5 pages) Please describe the focus of your research, including the questions you have identified, the funding you have received, the results you have discovered, and the products of these efforts. Highlight any cross‑disciplinary research and its collaboration with students or the external community. Outline future research directions, cross‑disciplinary and collaborative aspects, and strategies to pursue them in the D’Amore‑McKim School of Business.
Teaching Statement (1 page) Please summarize your past instructional and mentorship experiences, your pedagogical philosophy, and your plans/goals for teaching in the D’Amore‑McKim School of Business, including existing and proposed courses. Discuss strategies for teaching and mentoring global student populations.
Leadership Statement (1 page) Please describe your past experiences and activities and/or your future plans that detail your leadership style. Explain how you intend to cultivate a culture that promotes belonging, fosters open exchange of ideas, and manages diverse perspectives.
