JOB TITLE Associate Director
REPORTS TO Chief Program Officer
FLSA STATUS Full-time, Non-exempt

As the nation's first and NYC's largest youth mentoring organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS of NYC) connects generations of New Yorkers by matching a caring adult mentor, a Big, with a New York City youth, a Little. Through evidence-based, goal-centered, professionally supported programming, BBBS of NYC provides consistent support and guidance to matches that result in longer, stronger match relationships that advance the social-emotional development and academic progress of young people across the five boroughs.
RESPONSIBILITIES STAFF SUPERVISION
Supervise, train, and evaluate 4-5 full time Program Managers
Review case notes for thoroughness and compliance
Own productivity for the department, ensuring goals are met, elevate issues as needed
Monitor department performance to ensure compliance with best practices and agency standards
Provide on-going leadership, guidance, and supervision regarding program and client issues; assess staff development; motivate staff to achieve results
Work within a team structure to achieve program and department goals
Other duties as assigned
PROGRAM/CASE MANAGEMENT
Provide ongoing supervision and support to matches on an as needed basis. Monitor one-to-one matches by phone, email, and in-person meetings; maintain records of all case supervision contacts. Monitor closely for clinical and safety issues that may arise.
Document client and volunteer related interactions in database.
Other duties as assigned
ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP
To be determined based on interest and organizational need.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: MSW or Master’s Degree in related field required
Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory/management role preferred
Skills: Computer Proficiency; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication; program management; ability to supervise, coach, inspire and collaborate with staff; ability to multi-task.
