Business Process & Data Lead – Material Master (SAP S/4 HANA)
We are seeking an experienced Business Process & Data Lead – Material Master to support a large‑scale
SAP S/4HANA transformation program . The role is accountable for end‑to‑end design, governance, and integration of Material Master data across all functional domains. You will ensure data accuracy, consistency, and structure to support business processes, decision‑making, and operational efficiency.
This role will collaborate closely with SAP/MDG Leads, Data Migration Teams, and cross‑functional business teams to ensure the Material Master data model, business rules, and governance framework are standardized, scalable, and aligned with SAP best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and governance of Material Master data, ensuring alignment with SAP S/4HANA standards and enterprise data architecture.
Define material types, number ranges, field selections, classification structures, and valuation methods across regions and business lines.
Ensure cross‑functional integration across SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, QM, EWM, FI/CO) and related master data objects.
Implement and maintain Material Master data governance frameworks, including RACI models, workflows, and validation rules.
Collaborate with Data Migration Teams to define, validate, and monitor ETL rules, data quality, and mapping activities.
Support testing (SIT/UAT), training, and knowledge transfer to ensure smooth transition to BAU operations.
Drive continuous improvement, data standardization, and global harmonization initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA Material Master (MM), including functional design and data governance.
Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
Hands‑on experience in data migration, ETL, data mapping, and transformation rules.
Deep understanding of cross‑functional business processes (Source‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, etc.).
Proven experience in data quality management, governance frameworks, and KPI tracking.
Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration, and decision‑making skills in global projects.
Experience in multi‑plant, multi‑company, and international SAP implementations is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
SAP MM Functional Consultant or equivalent certification.
Prior experience leading SAP Material Master transformation or migration projects.
