Mainframe System Programmer
for a
Contract (W2)
position with a client in
Jacksonville, FL / Plano, TX – Hybrid
(3 days onsite in a week). The ideal candidate has a strong background in Mainframe System Programming, zshadow or similar tools like DB2 Connect, JCL, DB2, and z/OS environment.
Job Title Mainframe System Programmer
Location Jacksonville, FL / Plano, TX – Hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote)
Duration 12–18 months
Pay Range $68 – $70 per hour
Job Description The successful candidate will support zShadow Direct infrastructure, maintaining mainframe zShadow Direct environments on Merrill z/OS systems and supporting processes. Responsibilities include: software implementation, maintenance, certification testing, development, documentation of operational procedures, problem debugging, root‑cause analysis, and interaction with software vendors. The role may require off‑hours and weekend work, including 24 × 7 on‑call support.
Qualifications
In‑depth knowledge of DB2, JCL, and IBM utilities
Experience with z/OS mainframe infrastructure and zShadow Direct or similar product like DB2 CONNECT
DB2 DBA experience, SQL, and vendor utilities including DB2 Utilities
Proficiency in JCL and vendor utility programs
Strong analytical, debugging, written and oral communication skills
