JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.
Identify or troubleshoot application code‑related issues. Take an active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre‑defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum education and experience: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related occupation such as Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer, or Java Developer. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus five (5) years of experience in a related occupation.
Skills:
Three (3) years of experience analyzing business requirements for software development; translating business functionality into technical requirements and software designs; implementing software solutions, including transactional, concurrent, and secure systems.
Designing scalable software solutions and microservices using Java, Python, and design patterns (chain of responsibility, composite). Developing distributed and scalable services, including REST APIs and web services using Kubernetes.
Creating multi-threaded applications with reentrant locking; building event‑driven applications that respond to triggers; implementing test‑driven development (TDD); conducting regression testing for varying traffic loads.
Utilizing frameworks such as Spring, Struts, Mockito, Jackson, JUnit, and TestNG; implementing CD/CI practices within an Agile SDLC.
Collaborating across sprint cycles and cross-functional teams; scripting shell commands for startup and shutdown processes in Unix and Windows; version control with Maven, Jenkins, and GIT.
Designing data management systems: data modeling, pipelines, wrangling, enrichment; performing data manipulation, structuring, design flow, and query optimization using SQL and Python.
