Job Purpose Principal Electrical Engineer will lead the design of complex electronics projects across their entire lifecycle (EVT, DVT, PVT, Production/Sustaining), providing technical guidance, setting project direction, and driving the organization to successful product launches in the server/storage domain.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of architectures, product design requirements, and simulation of signal integrity and circuit functionality using state‑of‑the‑art simulation tools.
Enable state‑of‑the‑art electrical designs while meeting schedule expectations.
Fluent in the use of Cadence toolsets.
Provide expert guidance to teams and individual engineers, articulate goals, and proactively influence the organization toward successful product launches.
Provide expert input into task and schedule baselines, drive teams to meet schedules, and validate delivered work products meet stakeholder needs.
Drive problem‑solving activities on projects, lead organizational change on systemic problems, and promote structured problem‑solving techniques within the team.
Assist customers in resolving issues in their environments.
Partner with Operations to optimize costs and yields for released and pre‑release products.
Participate in new product concepts and strategies, interface directly with customer development teams, and contribute to product architecture.
Education & Experience
BSEE or equivalent engineering degree.
15+ years of system‑level product development experience; server and/or storage systems experience highly desired.
Experience with high‑speed signal design and simulation (SAS4, SATA, NVMe, PCIeGx, DDR, etc.).
Hands‑on experience with lab equipment, oscilloscopes, meters, TDR, power equipment, etc.
Strong background in board bring‑up/debug and system‑level designs (EVT, DVT, PVT).
Experience with programmable logic (FPGA, CPLD, etc.).
Familiarity with simulation programs such as PSPICE, ModelSim, Ansys, etc.
Capability to collect, analyze, and report on datasets from test plans, customer requests, and problem‑solving activities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of MS Office products for documentation and presentations.
Understanding of cost basis for electronic components.
Experience working with in‑house and external high‑volume manufacturing partners located in and outside the US.
Enjoys working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Salary Range (annual): $135,000 – $160,000. Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate’s years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business, and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
