Manager, Corporate Development

to join our team and help drive our inorganic growth strategy in Culver City on a Hybrid basis.

The Corporate Development team is responsible for identifying, evaluating & executing M&A, investments and strategic partnerships to drive Scopely’s inorganic growth strategy. This is a high-impact, strategic role on the team that will shape how we monitor and uncover new opportunities across the dynamic gaming ecosystem.

What you will do: This role is critical to our efforts to identify, evaluate, and execute acquisitions and strategic partnerships with high-performing companies and assets in the interactive entertainment space. The ideal candidate will have strong intellectual curiosity to uncover leading products and teams in the interactive entertainment space, top tier business analysis and analytical skills to evaluate opportunities, a strong project management toolbox to manage due diligence efforts, and relentless drive to close high impact M&A and strategic deals.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Development and collaborates with cross-functional teams to source new opportunities, manage the deal pipeline, drive deal evaluation and execution, and enhance and evolve Scopely’s corporate development strategy.

Proactively monitor market trends, emerging opportunities, and the competitive landscape to help identify and source new corporate develop fment opportunities

Build and maintain a robust industry intelligence network through regular engagement with internal stakeholders and external partners

Manage and cultivate the corporate development pipeline to ensure the highest impact opportunities are surfaced, evaluated and progressed

Evaluate corporate development deals, performing a broad range of qualitative and quantitative analyses including KPI analysis, financial modeling, deal structuring and valuation

Develop strategic analyses and deal rationale presentations for potential opportunities to present to Scopely senior management

Partner with Scopely cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Slate Development Group, Strategy, Product, Publishing, HR) on deal, due diligence, and integration efforts

Evolve the ongoing processes, skill sets, and strategies to continue to build out our corporate development competencies

What you will need:

Proven track record of deal execution

At least 5+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity and/or venture capital

Top tier analytical prowess

Strong financial modeling, data analysis, market analysis, research and valuation skills

Experience analyzing large data sets to extract key insights

Experience sourcing and evaluating corporate development opportunities

Strong presentation and communication skills; comfortable engaging with all levels in the organization, including senior management

Ability to multi-task, operate under time pressure and meet tight deadlines

Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams across the company

Self-starter with the drive to continuously pursue new corporate development opportunities for Scopely

Experience in the video game industry preferred

Undergraduate degree from a leading academic institution with strong academic performance

For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY, and WA, the annual salary range is provided below. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$125,800 - $187,000 USD
