Chair, Department of Rheumatic and Immunologic Diseases - Cleveland Clinic Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Chair of the Department of Rheumatic and Immunologic Diseases. The Department is one of six within the Medical Specialty Institute, guiding rheumatologic care across all Cleveland Clinic markets, including Ohio and Florida.

By integrating care across disciplines, the MSI creates personalized treatment plans that enhance outcomes and improve lives.

The Department is consistently among the highest ranked in the nation. Its highly subspecialized members pioneer the management of autoimmune diseases, arthritis, vasculitis, and bone metabolism disorders. Its research‑driven care model leads to excellent outcomes for patients with complex conditions.

The Department includes 58 physicians and 15 Advanced Practice Providers in Ohio and Florida, with services spanning 12 practice locations. It has ten programs, including General Rheumatology, Arthritis, Vasculitis Care and Research, Fasenmyer Center for Clinical Immunology, Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Disease, Lupus Program, Rheumatic Lung Disease Program, Inflammatory Ocular Disease Program, CNS Inflammatory Diseases Program, and Sarcoidosis Program. Training offerings include a Rheumatology fellowship and a vasculitis fellowship.

The Department maintains robust research activity in partnership with the Musculoskeletal Research Center labs and Cleveland Clinic Research. Cleveland Clinic Research comprises 235 independent laboratories and focuses on translational science, accelerating innovation for patient care.

The ideal candidate will be nationally recognized for expertise in clinical care, teaching, and research. They should have demonstrated excellence in mentoring faculty and trainees and possess operational and programmatic experience.

The Chair reports directly to the Chief of the Medical Specialty Institute. Alignment with the Institute’s strategy and Cleveland Clinic’s vision is essential. The Chair will set the vision for clinical care, research, education, and innovation for Rheumatic and Immunologic Diseases across all markets, motivate providers to accomplish results, and support a safe, engaging work environment.

A faculty appointment at a rank that matches experience is available at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Board certification and eligibility for licensure in Ohio are required.
