Assistant Grocery Manager

Overview As the Assistant Grocery Manager you will help customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service and managing one of the busiest teams in our store.
Responsibilities
Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team.
Effectively coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
Assist with hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team.
Unload and sort through store deliveries.
Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and validate that other Grocery team members are aware of and following these procedures.
Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age and have 1‑3 years retail management experience. Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred.
Dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays; walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours is expected.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to give and receive direction.
Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff, and working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Must be able to vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs. from 9″ to 62″, for up to 25 hours.
Must be able to vertically/horizontally transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. from 5″ to 34″, for a distance up to 5 ft, for up to 25 hours without mechanical assistance.
Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access a point 5 inches from the floor for up to 30 hours is expected.
Pay Range The pay range for this position is $18.30 – $25.60 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
