Day to day:
Our client is seeking a Senior and Staff level Mechanical Engineer to support the development of a cutting‑edge electron beam inspection tool used in advanced 300mm semiconductor fabs. This role is approximately 40% focused on production tooling and low‑volume, high‑complexity mechanical design, and 60% dedicated to hands‑on lab testing and validation. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated team player with strong initiative, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment alongside industry experts.
Must Haves:
2+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the semiconductor industry
Experience designing electro‑mechanical modules from concept to production
Proficiency with SolidWorks for module and component design
Familiarity with cleanroom or fab environments where contamination control is critical
Experience checking parts in/out of vault systems
Ability to create BOMs and documentation using Arena or similar tools
Strong hands‑on troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and system‑level issues
Pluses
Experience with vacuum systems, pumps, or ultra‑low outgassing components
Background in electron beam
Familiarity with electrostatic chucks, piezo motors, linear motors, or high‑voltage components (>15kV DC)
Experience with wafer handling robots and motion control systems
