The Hilton McLean Tysons Corner is looking for a Senior Catering Manager. This 4‑Diamond hotel is located in the heart of Northern Virginia's technology corridor and offers 458 guestrooms and 28,000 square feet, including a 10,952‑sq‑ft ballroom.
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years proven experience in catering sales and services, particularly within cultural weddings, social events, galas, and fundraisers. They must possess a fully flexible schedule, with full availability to work any day or hour without limitations. A strong and strategic seller, this individual excels at identifying opportunities and securing new business, and they should have in‑depth knowledge of banquet food and beverage operations, demonstrating the ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Shift Pattern:
Typical office hours of 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with required flexibility to adjust schedules for early mornings or late evenings on all days based on client engagement events.

What will I be doing? As Senior Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the development of market segment(s), including solicitation of new customer relationships, negotiation of business through proposals and contracts to close business, creative design of menus and events to maximize revenue and event experience, and maintaining existing relationships with corporate and social accounts. You will foster all internal customer relationships to ensure consistent, high‑level service throughout the contracting, pre‑event, event, and post‑event phases. This position primarily handles complex social events, directs event logistics to affected departments and team members, serves as the primary contact, and may support and act on behalf of the Director of Catering and Events.
Organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.
Communicate timely to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.
Create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet client expectations.
Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, systems, and processes.
Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
Selling and influencing both internal and external clients.
Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determining the best solution.
Ensure high-quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand guest needs, providing direction and guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed.
Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
Perform other duties as necessary based on business needs.
Maintain regular attendance.
