Electrical Superintendent – Healthcare Construction
Position: Electrical Superintendent – Healthcare Construction
Location: Washington, D.C. Metro
Company: Top 10 Electrical Contractor
A top electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead field operations on complex healthcare construction projects across the Washington, D.C. metro area. This role is responsible for day-to-day site execution, safety, quality, and schedule coordination on hospital and medical facility builds.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise on-site installation of electrical systems on large healthcare projects
Direct foremen, field crews, and subcontractors to meet quality and schedule goals
Coordinate inspections, material deliveries, and logistics with GCs and trades
Ensure compliance with NEC, local code, life safety systems, and healthcare-specific requirements
Maintain daily field reports, site documentation, and QA/QC standards
Lead field planning for clean/sterile areas, emergency systems, and occupied spaces
Resolve site issues quickly and collaborate with project managers and engineers
Support commissioning and system turnover in coordination with hospital staff and third parties
Required Skills & Experience
8–10+ years of electrical construction experience, with at least 3+ years on healthcare projects
Deep knowledge of emergency power, med gas interfacing, and life safety system installations
Proven ability to lead large field teams on complex, schedule-driven builds
Strong communication skills and experience coordinating in active medical environments
Familiarity with AHJ, hospital inspection processes, and clean area protocols
Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman or Master Electrician license (D.C., MD, or VA preferred)
OSHA 30 certification
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and daily field tracking tools
Successful delivery of hospital renovations, expansions, and ground-up builds
