Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive programmatic advertising strategy that aligns with revenue objectives, driving measurable growth and identifying new opportunities across emerging formats.
Own programmatic revenue forecasting and performance against targets, providing data‑driven strategic recommendations to executives.
Design, implement, and continuously optimize pricing strategy for open auction inventory, maximizing yield while protecting brand integrity and user experience.
Balance aggressive revenue optimization with maintaining a best‑in‑class site experience, ensuring programmatic strategies enhance editorial mission and reader engagement.
Manage strategic partner relationships (SSPs, DSPs, exchanges), driving negotiations, troubleshooting technical issues, and keeping initiatives on track.
Identify and develop direct programmatic partnerships, collaborating with sales and marketing to leverage new opportunities.
Work cross‑functionally with Product, Editorial, and AdOps to align implementations with premium publisher positioning.
Conduct deep‑dive analyses using advanced Excel, SQL, and analytics platforms to track KPIs, identify optimization opportunities, and design/implement A/B tests and experimental strategies.
Monitor ad inventory levels and user experience metrics, building reports and dashboards that track revenue performance and site quality indicators.
Create executive‑level reports and presentations, conducting underlying analysis while leveraging team support for data collection and validation.
Lead and mentor a lean team of two analysts, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to achieve individual and team goals.
Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the programmatic yield team, serving as both a strategic thought leader and an active contributor.
Qualifications
8+ years in digital advertising with at least 5 years focused on programmatic advertising and yield management within the digital publishing industry.
3–5+ years managing small, high‑impact teams.
Revenue‑driven with a dedicated focus on generating revenue and achieving revenue targets.
Instinctual problem solver, constantly looking for new and better ways to grow the business.
Expert in Excel with ability to create pivot tables, use V‑lookup formulas, IF/THEN statements, devise charts and graphs that convey actionable insights.
Understanding of the programmatic landscape, inclusive of SSPs and DSPs.
Understanding of publisher metric models (RPM, ARPU, IPV, CPM).
Knowledge of GCP and SQL a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate big picture while providing detailed hands‑on direction for a team of analysts.
Fast‑moving, organized, and a curious self‑starter who enjoys building relationships with internal partner teams.
BA or BS degree.
Compensation Pay range: $150,000 to $200,000 annually, with performance‑based bonus and total on‑target earnings (OTE) determined by experience and qualifications.
