Acelab
About The Role
Acelab is building the intelligence platform for the $2.4 trillion building materials industry, creating a direct highway that connects supply (manufacturers, distributors) with demand (architects, contractors, and owners) throughout the entire construction lifecycle.
We’re seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff to serve as a strategic force multiplier to our CEO/leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, can seamlessly navigate between 30,000‑foot vision and ground‑level implementation, and has the startup ops grit to build scalable systems from scratch. The role is designed as a high‑leverage position that extends executive reach across the organization, owns cross‑functional initiatives, drives critical projects to completion, and serves as a trusted thought partner on our most important challenges.
Core Responsibilities Strategic Operations & Execution

Translate strategic vision into actionable plans with clear milestones and accountability
Design and implement operational systems that scale with our growth
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across the organization
Build bridges between departments to ensure seamless collaboration
Executive Partnership
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO on critical decisions
Prepare executive‑level communications, board materials, and strategic documents
Manage executive priorities and ensure focus on the highest‑impact activities
Represent the CEO in meetings when appropriate and cascade decisions effectively
Provide candid feedback and serve as a sounding board for new ideas
Organizational Effectiveness
Design and run critical company rhythms (OKR planning, all‑hands, leadership meetings)
Drive data‑driven decision making by establishing KPIs and tracking systems
Lead special projects that don't have a natural home but are critical to company success
Build lightweight processes that enhance productivity without adding bureaucracy
Foster a culture of operational excellence across all teams
Requirements Essential Capabilities
Exceptional operational rigor
Track record of building and optimizing complex operational systems
Obsessive about details while maintaining strategic perspective
Ability to create order from chaos and structure from ambiguity
Experience implementing frameworks (KPIs, culture management, team surveys & reviews, etc.) that actually work
Strategic‑tactical range – rare ability to zoom between 30,000‑foot strategy and ground‑level execution in minutes
Comfortable discussing market strategy in one meeting and debugging a process issue in the next
Can translate abstract vision into concrete action plans
Natural systems thinker who sees connections others miss
Entrepreneurial drive – takes ownership like a founder, not just an operator
Bias for action: ships fast and iterates rather than perfecting in isolation
Comfortable making decisions with 70 % information
Resourceful problem‑solver who finds ways forward when others see dead ends
Experience & Skills
3+ years in high‑growth startup environments, VC, or consulting, preferably in Operations, BizOps, or Chief of Staff roles
Proven track record of driving complex, cross‑functional initiatives to completion
Experience working directly with C‑level executives
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
Highly Preferred
Previous Chief of Staff or similar role at a scaling startup
Experience in Architecture, Construction or Real Estate industries
MBA or relevant advanced degree (though we value experience over credentials)
Technical fluency – comfortable with data analysis tools and modern productivity stack
The Ideal Candidate Will…
See patterns where others see noise
Default to action while thinking strategically
Build trust quickly across all levels of the organization
Bring both intellectual horsepower and emotional intelligence
Have strong opinions, loosely held
Thrive on variety and continuous learning
Benefits
Opportunity to shape a rapidly scaling company at a critical inflection point
