Qualifications
Computer proficiency (databases, email, Powerschool, Google functions, website, Internet, etc.)
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Keyboarding skills.
Excellent telephone and clerical skills.
Ability to independently manage processes and projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality as appropriate and required.
Administrative assistant experience preferred.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities
Supports the building principal and assistant principal in any clerical or administrative tasks as assigned.
Collaborates with building staff to ensure purchase orders and other purchases are consistent with district policies and procedures, including use of the Skyward system.
Supports the building principal in scheduling substitute teachers and monitoring needs throughout the day.
Checks in substitute teachers and ensures they have ID badges, daily school information, lesson plans, etc.
Creates and maintains beginning‑of‑school lists, logistics, class lists, teacher phone extensions, etc.
Coordinates and sends daily absences and announcements.
Assists students with daily morning announcements.
Coordinates building calendar and logistics with principal, teachers, maintenance team, and outside groups (PTO events, field trips, etc.).
Serves as a liaison with the PTO in conjunction with the principal.
Supports district office staff in registering new students.
Primary person for greeting and managing all visitors, ensuring appropriate check‑in and screening.
Checks attendance line, records absences, runs attendance reports, and accounts for absent students.
Provides cover in the nurse’s office as needed.
Monitors and submits school P‑Card (procurement card) receipts via Skyward.
Answers phones, responds to emails, and supports overall proper functioning of the front office.
Working Conditions Lake Bluff School District 65 has approximately 860 students and 140 staff members. Lake Bluff is located 33 miles north of Chicago on the shores of Lake Michigan.
