The Maintenance Engineer will optimize building systems, especially HVAC and automation technologies, to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations. This role directly supports client satisfaction and JLL’s operational excellence by maintaining reliability and implementing energy‑efficient solutions.
What your day-to-day will look like
Lead daily maintenance operations for comprehensive building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems.
Operate and optimize sophisticated Building Automation Systems (BAS) to manage HVAC equipment, lighting, and energy functions.
Program control sequences, analyze system data, and implement energy conservation strategies using BAS platforms.
Perform complex troubleshooting and repairs for chillers, boilers, air handlers, variable air volume systems, and rooftop units.
Manage electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting controls, and emergency generators; coordinate with contractors as needed.
Oversee maintenance of plumbing and water systems, including domestic water, fire protection, and water treatment.
Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation in CMMS to support compliance and performance tracking.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of comprehensive building maintenance experience.
Demonstrated expertise across multiple facility systems, with specialized HVAC proficiency.
Strong working knowledge of electrical distribution, plumbing systems, fire safety, and security systems.
Proficiency with major BAS platforms such as Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell, Siemens, or Tridium.
Certifications: EPA 608 Universal and Electrical Fundamentals.
Ability to perform system programming, troubleshooting, and configuration tasks.
Strong analytical and technical skills for interpreting system performance metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in Building Automation, Energy Management, or Facilities Management.
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and pneumatic systems.
Working knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, motors, valves, and drive components.
Understanding water treatment processes, plumbing codes, and fire protection systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify process improvements to enhance building performance and energy efficiency.
Location Onsite: Jonesboro, GA
Work Shift 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday
Salary/Comp $32–$34 per hour / $66,560–$70,720 annually
