Compensation: $150,000-$180,000 base + discretionary bonus

Position Overview The Controller will oversee the company's accounting operations and financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will lead a remote accounting team, manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and serve as a key liaison between leadership, auditors, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on financial leader with strong technical accounting skills, a background in mortgage or lending industries, and experience supporting a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support the accounting team (14 total)

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting cycles

Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Manage general ledger, consolidations, and intercompany transactions

Partner with executive leadership to support forecasting and business performance tracking

Interface directly with external auditors and lending counterparties

Maintain and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial processes

Collaborate with the CEO on budgeting, planning, and financial strategy

Qualifications

8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management‑level oversight

Proven ability to lead close processes and prepare GAAP‑compliant financials

Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work across departments

Preferred

Experience within the mortgage, lending, or financial services industry

Knowledge of Loan Vision software

Exposure to multi‑entity or distributed team environments
