Responsibilities of the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager
Lead projects from start to finish.
Lead creation of white paper memos.
Coach, mentor, & train staff on complex questions.
Perform financial reporting month-end close tasks – Quarterly financial statements.
Handle technical accounting research and support for a team of 100+ accountants.
Assist with technical accounting issues such as ASC 606 or ASC 842, researching impacts on the organization.
Review contracts up to a certain threshold to create appropriate accounting positions.
Write and develop position papers / white paper memos.
Deal with company acquisitions or unusual transactions – technical accounting & financial reporting related.
Qualifications for the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
5+ years of experience (SEC reporting and/or audit).
Technical expertise in ASC 606 & ASC 842, etc.
CPA required or currently pursuing.
Straight from Public Accounting (BIG4) or top 10 CPA firm or combination of public and private industry.
Compensation: $140,000 - $155,000 base + bonus.
