Job Description Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an Electrical Superintendent with 5 or more years of commercial electrical construction experience. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day scheduling and field coordination of all aspects of the electrical and low voltage systems scopes of a project(s).
Supervisory Responsibilities The Electrical Superintendent will work as part of the field leadership team and will be responsible for the planning and execution of system start‑up, testing, and commissioning. Along with the project team, the superintendent will work with project executives and regional leadership teams. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Foster the development of foremen to grow into future superintendents.
Support pre‑construction and project teams in reviewing trade partners' proposals, schedules, and logistics.
Manage the installation of electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage systems, fire/life safety, and fire protection design/construction coordination.
Participate in the review of electrical related shop drawings and submittals.
Assist in developing full commissioning plans for all electrical systems, including test requirements, inspections, factory acceptances, and integrated test plans.
Provide onsite construction support for MEP systems and oversee start‑up, balancing, commissioning, validation certification, owner training, and project closeout.
Develop and oversee project‑specific MEP quality and safety programs, including participation in safety cause mapping for post‑MEP safety events.
Create construction schedules, perform regular updates, monitor logic relationships, and insert new activities and impacts.
Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with neighboring occupants.
Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve project occupancy milestones.
Lead DPR’s injury‑free environment safety program.
Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource‑loading with DPR’s self‑perform work crews.
Represent DPR field operations as the primary interface with owners and design teams.
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction concepts and applicable codes.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to resolve complex electrical design and construction issues.
Ability to run complex meetings with multiple attendees, issue minutes promptly, and follow up for deliverables.
Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and their integration with mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Knowledge of the test and balance process and requirements.
Understanding of building automation systems and sequences as they relate to MEP.
Knowledge of electrical safety regulations.
Commitment to safety culture in a construction environment.
Proficiency with current virtual design and construction software (e.g., Primavera P6, Bluebeam).
Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning processes.
Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
Comfortable working in an open and collaborative environment.
Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to create and support a positive team environment.
Strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude.
Education and Experience
5+ years of experience as an MEP Superintendent, preferably within DPR’s core markets.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Travel to and from the office as well as assigned job sites.
