How You Can Make An Impact As a Lead Project Electrical Engineer, you will be a vital member of a team focused on creating highly efficient design plans for building state‑of‑the‑art passenger trains.
Key Activities
Support the Technical Project Manager to achieve all customer technical requirements.
Lead assigned sub‑project tasks.
Delegate, schedule, and monitor progress of all electrical engineering tasks on a project.
Create technical specifications, production documentation and testing protocols.
Coordinate the supply chain for project‑related mock‑ups internally and externally.
Review and release wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and other engineering documentation.
Consult with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure designs are feasible.
Create designs in line with company procedures, regulations and client standards.
Ensure that all electrical hardware is designed correctly for proper mechanical installation.
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) at suppliers’ sites for assigned components.
Evaluate, manage and process Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for assigned projects or sub‑projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, or a similar field.
5+ years of engineering experience in the railway, aerospace or similar industries (project management experience is a plus).
Basic knowledge of energy distribution, traction systems, IT systems and onboard network control.
Extensive leadership experience and strong team skills.
Excellent problem‑solving skills.
Business fluent in English (German is a plus).
Experience in electrical/mechanical design (e.g. Catia V5).
Experience with schematic software (e.g. E3 or Ruplan).
Experience with PLM systems and ECN systems (e.g. SmarTeam).
Excellent technical writing skills (Office suite).
