Job Description The Project Manager will support projects from early planning through design, construction, facility opening, and operations, focusing on design management, owner’s representation, and project management services. The role serves as a subject matter expert in performing arts venue planning and technical production equipment and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Manage design management during concept, design development, and construction phases for cultural and performing arts projects, ensuring compliance with operational intent, mission/vision, budget, and schedule.

Collaborate with design professionals, contractors, and client representatives to align project goals with contract specifications, codes, and operational requirements.

Support the design process by reviewing drawings, assessing constructability, and integrating operational and technical production needs.

Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; monitor financial status and ensure timely invoicing.

Manage procurement strategies, including FF&E and specialized production equipment, and oversee move management.

Facilitate communication and governance, leading kick‑off and regular stakeholder meetings, preparing progress reports, and ensuring compliance with company and client standards, safety, and QA/QC requirements.

Proactively manage risks, change control, and performance metrics throughout design and construction.

Coordinate commissioning, closeout, training programs and operational readiness, ensuring project delivery is functional and mission‑focused.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to best practices in cultural projects project management.

Serve as a subject matter expert in performing arts venue planning and technical production equipment and infrastructure.

Conduct and lead technical production equipment and infrastructure assessments for renovation and new‑build projects in collaboration with the FCA team.

Establish effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilized throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends.

Represent Turner & Townsend at industry conferences.

Cultivate and manage client relationships within the cultural projects domain.

Contribute to proposal development, client interviews, and contract negotiations of new or existing projects.

Adhere to SOX control responsibilities when applicable.

Qualifications

3–5 years of cultural projects project management experience, or equivalent arts and cultural sector expertise.

Public sector project experience, specifically performing arts projects.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to be self‑sufficient and independently manage multiple projects.

Strategic advisory skills during project conception, including providing advice on approaches to achieve client objectives.

Excellent time‑management skills, ensuring projects meet quality standards, are completed efficiently and on time.

Strong relationship‑building skills with clients and cross‑functional team members.

Experience working effectively as a team member.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and industry‑specific project management and market research software.

Commitment to information management, ensuring project data is documented, shared, and securely archived.

Business development ability, including cross‑selling opportunities with existing and new clients.

Willingness to travel nationally on a frequent basis.

Capability to manage multiple stakeholders and sites daily.

Ability to present to large groups professionally.

Education / Experience

Demonstrated experience in project management within the performing arts industry on renovation, addition, and new‑build projects of varying sizes and types.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for a client‑facing role.

Active membership in relevant professional organizations preferred.

Performing arts experience highly preferred.

Additional Information The salary range for this full‑time role is

$115,000–$130,000

per year. The range reflects base salary only and may vary with experience and qualifications.
