Job Summary and Responsibilities
Staff Nurse II performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic care for patients with overt and covert needs in supervised situations, for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population.
Performs the nursing process for patients in more complex situations with assistance and supervision.
Assists with managing the patient care administered by other members of the nursing staff.
Assumes the responsibilities of Primary Nurse and Team Leader.
Position Summary (Unit Specific) Renders professional nursing care to patients within the rehab unit for adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, in support of medical care as directed by physicians, and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Current and active CA RN license.
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
Unit specific certifications and qualifications.
At least 3 months experience in acute hospital nursing.
Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing (CRRN), preferred.
Where You'll Work Dominican Hospital (member of Dignity Health) is a 222-bed facility offering a wide range of services to residents of California’s Central Coast, including 24/7 emergency care, comprehensive cardiac, orthopedics, oncology, women’s and pediatrics services. The hospital is a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center, and offers services such as the only comprehensive Cancer Center in Santa Cruz County, a Total Joint Replacement program, and advanced neurological and endoscopic services. Dominican reports “A” grades for hospital safety from Leapfrog Group and has received national recognition for superior patient safety, cardiac care, and stroke treatment.
Dominican Hospital offers a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is provided by partnership with Stanford Health Care.
Pay Range $75.68 – $96.75 per hour.
