Engineer‑Level 4 (Substation)
Company : Laveer Engineering (via WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC)
Location : Juno Beach, FL (remote work available)
Contract : 1‑year, W‑2 assignment
Salary : $91.00/hr – $96.00/hr (based on experience)
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Lead all substation projects from early‑stage conceptual design through construction and commissioning.
Work with Early‑Stage Project Managers to support engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group.
Secure engineering consulting resources, develop scope of work, evaluate bids, and award work through NEER’s Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Group.
Coordinate with other project team members to develop and secure a substation site, support engineering updates, data, and permits.
Source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services; support the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.
Represent E&C’s internal and external interests on assigned projects, including presentations/briefings on progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with multiple levels of management.
Support Transmission Services during review of interconnection documentation.
Communicate with transmission owners/operators/ISOs to ensure project deliverables meet specific off‑taker requirements.
Manage all project long‑lead major material orders to minimize risk of delays or budget overruns.
Assist ISC with substation project SOW creation, approval, and preparation of shopping carts for engineering services and materials.
Support E&C Estimating with template updates, project feedback, technical support, and scope modifications.
Work with project engineering resources on work plans and lines of demarcation.
Support assigned project commissioning activities to meet corporate goals.
Support Legal with regulatory filings, depositions, and hearings.
Qualifications Must have at least 15 years of experience in substation engineering for renewable energy utility‑scale projects.
