Job Purpose
The Women Health Nurse Practitioner at Behavioral Health Services Inc is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to women, focusing on reproductive health, preventative care, and overall wellness. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, educate patients about health management, and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments and examinations of patients to diagnose and treat various women's health issues.
Develop and implement personalized care plans, including preventative measures and health education, tailored to individual patient needs.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
Provide counseling and education on topics such as contraception, menopause, and prenatal care to empower patients in making informed health decisions.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in women's health and integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Participate in community outreach programs to promote women's health awareness and accessibility to healthcare services.
Support the development and implementation of health policies and procedures within the organization to enhance service delivery.
Other Essential Qualifications Current RN NP license and CPR. Experience working with clients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. Ability to travel as needed. Bilingual ability helpful.
Able to stand, stoop, bend, squat and reach for purpose of performing job duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing, lifting and assisting in emergency situations. Duties may require occasional use of stool or small ladder. Routinely lift and move items weighing up to ten pounds and occasionally up to twenty-five pounds; is expected to ask for assistance and use a dolly or cart for any heavy items. Able to move about the facility. Ability to sit at desk, use keyboard and physically perform job duties.
Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business.
Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties. Speech must be clear. Good hearing for face‑to‑face and telephone contact and communication.
Required Education
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
Certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) from a recognized certifying body
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in women's health or a related field
Experience in providing comprehensive care to women, including reproductive health, prenatal, and postnatal care
Familiarity with behavioral health services and integration of mental health care in women's health practice
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills specific to women's health issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members
Ability to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to providing culturally competent care and addressing the unique needs of diverse populations
