The role focuses on strategic management of daily operations for Event Services, Set‑Up, and Beverage across 38,000 square feet of meeting space. As the largest event space in the Charleston area, Wild Dunes Resort relies on this position to support its multi‑million dollar Events Operations, partnering with hotel departments to meet guest service expectations, employee experience, and revenue goals.

Responsibilities

Direct and lead the Event Services (Banquets), Set‑Up, and Beverage departments, working closely with Events Management (Catering and Convention Services) and other hotel operations.

Coach and motivate staff to achieve exceptional guest service and departmental engagement.

Lead, develop, and manage direct reports, managers, assistant managers, and supervisors.

Understand and respond quickly to complex business matters.

Impact and achieve Meeting Planner satisfaction scores.

Ensure proactive communication and execution of client changes by reviewing Banquet Event Orders daily.

Ensure timely setup of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications.

Review staffing and equipment needs proactively.

Coordinate and execute events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/Convention Services, Set‑Up Floor, and Beverage teams.

Develop innovative and creative décor for the banquet function space.

Manage short and long‑term banquet functions in the front and back house.

Create an environment that establishes the highest standards of quality service and implements this through hiring, training, development, and continuous reinforcement.

Administer payroll, reports, forecasts, point‑of‑sale procedures, inventory, and budget for food and beverage functions.

Perform daily walk‑throughs of the banquet department, function spaces, and storerooms to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt corporate standards.

Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions.

Qualifications

3–5 years of F&B and/or Event Operations Management leadership experience, with banquet experience preferred.

Full‑time management role requiring flexibility, including weekends, holidays, and varied schedules.

Desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.

Refined verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient general computer knowledge.

Extremely creative, innovative, detail‑oriented, and organized.

Hotel or equivalent experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service.
